Winter may be upon us but it is time to register for Spring 2012 Baseball and Softball leagues. Click on the Register Online link on the left to get started.

LYBS has leagues for all ages and abilities. The registration deadline for our travel leagues is January 31st. The registration deadline for our in-town leagues is February 29th. Register soon to avoid late fees and help make the league planning go smoothly. Your child's age is determined as of April 30th. Descriptions for leagues are as follows:

TRAVEL LEAGUES: Registration Deadline is January 31st.
Minors and Majors Baseball: Three traveling leagues for ages 9-12; placement is based upon ability and age. League placement will be determined by spring evaluations and past year coach evaluations. Minors: an introductory baseball league where the emphasis is on developing fundamental baseball skills. Majors 60: a more competitive league that continues to work on and increase the fundamentals of baseball. Majors 70: a league with leading, stealing, and all aspects of game as it is played on the big diamond.

A traveling league for 3rd and 4th graders with six-inning umpired games in which players do all the pitching and catching.

Majors Softball
A traveling league for 5th and 6th graders with six-inning umpired games in which players do all the pitching and catching.

IN TOWN LEAGUES: Registration Dealine is February 29th.
T-Ball: Non-competitive instructional baseball program for 5-6 year olds developing hitting, throwing, and base-running skills while emphasizing fun and safety.

Rookie Baseball: An in-town league for 7-8 year olds that stresses baseball skills development and introduces team game play. A full schedule of six-inning umpired games in which a pitching machine is used for some innings and players pitch as the season progresses.

Rookie Softball: In-town instructional program for Transitional, 1st and 2nd graders focused on developing player skills and learning the basics of the game. Uniformed teams will conduct inter-league play with 1-2 games per week. Pitching machine used for batting and safety purposes.

SENIOR LEAGUES: Register for the Waitlist to indicate your interest in playing.
Babe Ruth Baseball: A traveling league for 13-15 year olds with a full schedule of seven-inning umpired games on regulation-sized diamonds from mid-April to mid-June. There are two divisions: Patriot (for 13 year olds only) and Minuteman (for 13-15 year olds). Games will be scheduled so that they do not conflict with middle school or high school baseball teams.

Senior Softball: A structured traveling league for 7th-9th graders with six-inning umpired games in which players do all the pitching and catching. League placement is based upon player grade. Games are scheduled for weekdays.
