2020 Spring Baseball - Minors

MAC League - Minors Baseball

Leagues for ages 9-12. The Littleton Youth Baseball program is designed to teach and develop the fundamental baseball skills while also gradually introducing game strategy and teamwork as players advance through the system. As players progress from Minors through Majors 60 and into Majors 70, the level of competition will increase from year to year while allowing for highly skilled players to advance at a more rapid rate.

Starting in the Minors, all games will be umpired, fully pitched by the players, and played against other towns in the region. It is our goal to make this a fun experience for all of the kids regardless of age or level. As such, through the evaluation process before and after the season, we will strive to field evenly balanced teams across and within each league. For more details on the leagues and some general guidelines on placement and competition level, please see below.

If you have any questions regarding these leagues, please contact the MAC League Coordinator, Dan Shufrin: president@littletonbaseball.org

Recommended for ages 9 and 10, Minors is played with a 46-foot pitcher’s mound and 60 foot base paths. This is intermediate baseball where the emphasis is on developing fundamental baseball skills and the beginning of game strategy and teamwork. All six innings are kid pitched, no coaches or machine pitching.

While this league is still recreational, it is more competitive than Rookie given that games are now against other towns. Depending on registration numbers some advanced 8 year olds that have shown the necessary skills during evaluations may be invited to play up at this level from Rookie.

Generally there will be 1-2 games per week, one practice during the week and one all-league practice over the weekend. Team placement is based upon player experience and skill level with the objective to balance all teams as evenly as possible.

The regular season starts in late April and ends in Mid-June. However, we will start pre-season  work indoors in February at our indoor batting cage sponsor and progress into the Littleton gyms in March.  Included in your registration fee is the cost of uniforms, equipment for use (such as bats, helmets, and balls, etc) pre-season facility costs, and field maintenance costs.
