MAJORS DIVISION

The Majors Division is a travel league intended for players aged 11-12 or in grades 5-6.

Here, the young athletes will continue to improve their skills, understand the importance of teamwork, and foster a love for the game. Each player will play a role in contributing to the team’s success. They will experience the rewards of dedication and commitment. Teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship will help players not only grow as athletes but also grow as individuals.

For the spring season, as a participant in the Macintosh League, Littleton generally will field two teams - Majors "A" and Majors.

Some of the notable changes in this division include:

  • All games played on 70' base paths and 50' pitching mounds
  • Dropped third strike and infield fly rules apply
  • Majors "A" includes called balks instead of just warnings in Majors
  • Majors "A" has no per-inning run limits, while Majors has a limit of 5 runs per inning
  • Teams will have 1-2 games per week (specific days to be determined by league schedule)
  • Teams will target having 1 practice per week (specific days to be determined by coaches)
  • Games are played against other towns in the region, and travel is required for away games
  • Spring season includes playoffs and an interleague All-Star Game

Participation on the Majors "A" team will be determined based on coaches' evaluations.  12-year olds/6th graders will NOT automatically be placed on this team.

*Players who are League Age 10 who wish to be considered for selection in the Majors Division draft should make this request to the Majors Division Coordinator.
